How do I pick a color from an image?

Add an image and click or tap the pixel you want to inspect. The selected color is displayed in HEX, RGB, RGBA, HSL, HSV, and CMYK formats.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The image is read locally using the browser Canvas API. It is not uploaded by this color picker.

Can this tool extract a color palette?

Yes. It analyzes a reduced local sample of the image and creates up to eight visually distinct dominant colors.

Does it support transparent PNG images?

Yes. The selected pixel alpha value is included in RGBA and eight-digit HEX output when transparency is present.

Which image formats are supported?

PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and BMP are supported when the format can be decoded by the current browser.

Why can a sampled color look slightly different?

Anti-aliasing, transparency, compression, color profiles, gradients, and display calibration can affect appearance. The picker reports pixel data decoded by your browser.
